Scope and Content: Refers to statements made to members of the US congress while in Europe, that American troops or naval ratings were stoned or otherwise attacked by citizens of Cork in the past 4 years. After close observation and exhaustive enquiry, these statements are utterly untrue. The only occurrences relevant could be sailors visiting Cork city being 'importuned...by those trading on immoral practices and young girls begging', owing to the sailors being 'exceptionally generous in spending money', leading to 'young men attached to religious confraternities to watch the women and girls'.
